A Belleville man was sentenced to 25 years in prison in federal court Monday for sending nude pictures of himself to an 11-year-old on two separate occasions, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen R. Wigginton.
Jack C. Baldwin, Jr., 46, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for enticement of a minor, 10 years in prison for transfer of obscene matter to a minor and 20 years in prison for transportation of child pornography, all to run concurrently. Baldwin was also sentenced to serve 10 years probation and must register as a sex offender.
The investigation revealed that Baldwin, who was 45 years old at the time, sent the victim, who he knew to be 11 years old at the time, two pictures of himself nude using his cellular phone, with one of the pictures being sent on Dec. 10. It also revealed that between Dec. 10 and Dec. 13, Baldwin persuaded and induced the victim to send Baldwin a similar picture of the victim.
A forensic review of the cellular phone Baldwin used to send and receive the pictures was conducted and revealed that Baldwin sent the photograph of the victim from his cellular telephone account to his e-mail.
Baldwin pleaded guilty to the charges Aug. 21 and has been held without bond since his arraignment on July 2.
