Belleville blotter: Teen attempts to buy Chinese food with fake $100 bill

Published: October 30, 2012

The following reports appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

MONDAY

8:22 p.m. COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY - 3600 block of West A. The victim, a 30-year-old male, a delivery driver for Li Chinese, reported the suspect, an 18-year-old female, attempted to pay for an order with a counterfeit $100 bill. When told the bill was counterfeit, the suspect took the bill and left the scene. The suspect was later located and the counterfeit bill was seized.

Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. For more police blotter news, read tomorrow's print edition of the Belleville News-Democrat and return to bnd.com.
