Illinois State Police on Wednesday released the name of a trooper injured in a traffic crash Tuesday in Lebanon.

Trooper Kyle Seger, 29, was taken to St. Louis University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries Tuesday after a car crashed into his police motorcycle. He was treated and released.

Seger, who has worked for State Police for five years, has not returned to work, Illinois State Police Trooper Mike Link said.

Seger was traveling north on Illinois 4 at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday when his motorcycle was rear-ended by a white Toyota Corolla.

The driver of the car, Jonathon R. Porter, 24, of St. Louis, was not injured. Porter was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operation of a motor vehicle with no valid registration.
