TUESDAY

WEDNESDAY

1:44 a.m. ROBBERY/AGGRAVATED BATTERY - Townhouse Motel, 400 S. Illinois. The victim, a 39-year-old male, reported that he went to the motel to meet a female, 23, that he had befriended recently after finding her stranded on the side of the road. The victim stated after entering the room, an unknown male suspect exited the bathroom and began striking him with a pipe. The female also began striking him. Both subjects demanded money and victim handed the male his money. Both suspects then left in a maroon SUV. The victim was treated at an area hospital for his injuries.

Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. For more police blotter news, read tomorrow's print edition of the Belleville News-Democrat and return to bnd.com.s
