Michael Ford returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown and ran for 81 yards and three more TDs Saturday as Marquette blasted Olney East Richland 56-28 in the second round of the Class 4A state football playoffs.

Kareem Hamilton also had a 60-yard kickoff return for the Explorers (10-1), who will be at Harrisburg next weekend in the quarterfinals.

Olney East Richland finished the season 9-2.

Chatham Glenwood 42, Jerseyville 21

Chatham Glenwood built a 42-0 lead by halftime and never looked back as the Titans (9-2) got five touchdown runs in the first two quarters of an easy second-round Class 5A win over Jerseyville.

Jerseyville (10-1) scored all three of its touchdowns in the fourth quarter, two on runs by Austin Lolos.
