Your ballot awaits you

November 6, 2012

REMINDER: You have an appointment today, anytime between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., at your local polling place. And the choices you make will affect your money, your health care and the lives of you and your family.

If you don’t go to make those choices, wouldn’t you essentially be saying that you don’t care enough about those things? We hope that’s not the case, and here’s why:

• You should vote because there are clearly defined directions being touted by the next potential leaders of the free world.

• You should vote because we are at a historic point regarding our representatives in the U.S. House.

• You should vote because local government is trying to put its mark on your power bill as well as on gambling in your neighborhood tavern.

• You should vote because the direction in Washington, Springfield and your hometown will be shaped by your choices.

• You should vote because it makes you feel powerful to be part of the process.

You were offered a free public education so you could become part of an informed electorate, able to sort through the political shadings of truth. You have been offered the information you need to vote your mind, your wallet and your conscience. You owe this duty to yourself and those around you.

Time to vote.
