Don and Charlotte Mehrtens of Millstadt celebrated their 50th Anniversary on Sunday, September 23, 2012 with an open house at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, given by their children.

Don Mehrtens and the former Charlotte Pulcher were married September 23, 1962 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Columbia, IL by the Rev. Herman Lehenbauer.

Don Mehrtens is retired from McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis and serves as Supervisor for Millstadt Township. He is a member of Bluff Grange #1826, St. Clair County Pomona and Illinois State Grange. He is a member of Zion Evangelical Church, Zion Z team and Millstadt Commercial Club.

Charlotte Mehrtens is retired Director from Millstadt Township Senior Services. She is the Volunteer Coordinator for Millstadt Area Food Pantry. She is a member of Bluff Grange #1826, St. Clair County Pomona and Illinois State Grange where she serves at State Chaplain. She’s also a member of Millstadt Civic Club, Zion Evangelical Church, Zion Women’s Fellowship and serves on the Church Council.

They have one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mike Mueller and three grandchildren, Bradley, Rolland, Abbie Rolland and Lindsay Mueller.
