Peanuts help fulfill promises

Published: November 6, 2012

PERHAPS YOU CONTRIBUTED some loose change, a check or some currency to the Kiwanis Club of Edwardsville's recent Peanut Day fundraiser efforts. If so, thanks very much. We truly appreciate the great response we've received through the years from businesses and citizens alike from our community.

Thanks to the generosity of so many, our Kiwanis Club continues to be able to financially support our youth, various organizations and folks in our community. Your past pennies and dollars have provided many dollars to support the Glen-Ed Food Pantry, Kiwanis Camp Wyman for disadvantaged teens, donations to our local police and fire departments and so many others. They have enabled our club to award vocational scholarships to Edwardsville High School graduates that through the years have totaled well more than $50,000.

Every dollar we collect is returned to the Edwardsville community. So, even though we are "working for peanuts," your donations come back as a great deal more.
