Incumbent Dwight Kay defeated challenger Marleen Suarez in unofficial results in the race for state representative in the 112th Illinois House district.

With 92 of 92 precincts reporting, the vote totals:

Dwight Kay (R): 25,406

Marleen Suarez (D): 25,096

Kay, a Glen Carbon businessman, was seeking his second term in the House. Suarez, of Collinsville, is an attorney and owner of a trucking business.

The district covers a midsection of Madison County, but also has a section in St. Clair County.
