Belleville blotter: Roommate dispute leads to disorderly conduct charges

Published: November 7, 2012

The following reports appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

TUESDAY

11:03 p.m. Disorderly conduct -- 300 block of N. Sixth Street. Glenn Stevenson, 50, was arrested after he called 911 stating he had a knife and was requesting officers. Officers discovered Stevenson lied about having a knife in order to have officers respond quicker and speak with his roommate over a dispute they were having. Stevenson was transported to headquarters and released with a notice to appear.

Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. For more police blotter news, read tomorrow's print edition of the Belleville News-Democrat and return to bnd.com.
