Operators of a Granite City charity are looking for assistance to save the organization's building.

Jesus' Place Mission Church Free Store, 1900 State St., has a badly leaking roof that has made it difficult to perform their mission: Making sure needy families have clothing, household goods and even toys for their children.

Supporters say the aging structure' roof needs about $5,000 worth of repairs. Every time it rains, water pours through the ceiling and soaks items in the second-floor storage area in the structure.
