Benghazi cartoon hits mark

Published: November 11, 2012

Glenn McCoy's recent cartoon regarding the press coverage of the Benghazi story and President Obama's reelection was spot-on. Is there any reasonable person on the face of the earth who believes the level of coverage and the amount of investigation of this story by the mainstream media would have been so low had a Republican been in the White House? The contradictory statements and smoke and mirrors explanations coming from the president and others from his administration was stunning. If a Republican had been president when this horrible tragedy occurred and it had been handled the same way by him and his people he would have had zero chance of being re-elected. He would have been crucified by the press about the level of security in Libya before the attack, the military confusion during the attack and the subsequent false statements about the reason for the attack and those responsible for it. Instead these questions were largely ignored by our wonderful mainstream media.

I don't know how long our two-party system can continue as we know it. How can one party survive when those doing the reporting to the voters are so blatantly and obviously biased in favor of the other party.
