Alvin and Elaine Olsson of Fairview Heights celebrated their 55th anniversary on November 7, 2012 with a family vacation cruise to Alaska.

Alvin and the former Elaine Oxman were married on November 7, 1957 at St. Philips Church in E. St. Louis, IL by Rev. Emel J. Masiarz.

Alvin Olsson is a retired meat cutter at Schnucks, Fairview Heights, and is active with the Moose Lodge and Holy Trinity Church.

Elaine Olsson is a retired bank teller for West Pointe Bank and is active with Holy Trinity Church.

They have three children: Debra (Jim) Shay of Smithton, Sandra (Dr. Steven) Bell of St. Louis, and Alvin II (Lisa) Olsson of Cincinnati, OH.

They have 5 grandchildren: Michael (Rina) Boyne, Justin Lautz, Megan (Keith) Kronen, Andrew Olsson and Matthew Olsson.

They have one great-grandchild: Colin Michael Kronen.
