I read in Saturday's paper the front page story of Swansea village trustees are miffed by a Facebook posting.

If Trustee Schultz feels the Village Board is being disrespected, we should remind her that can be attributed to the disrespect the Village Board holds toward the fire department. I can see why fireman Koudelka was frustrated and expressed his frustrations in the manner he did. Poor choice of words, yes. But I defend his right to express it.

For the past year the board has done nothing but nitpick the fire department, questioning everything that is done over there. Then when frustration rears its ugly head, they are offended. Like Rocky McDonald stated in the last council meeting: "If you want to sit up there, you need to get a thicker skin."

I'd like to remind Trustee Schultz that if she wants to be a trustee, she should start acting like one.
