Blotter 11/13/12: New Baden suspect accused of hitting man in head with hammer

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of local law enforcement agencies and court clerks. Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES

FRIDAY, NOV. 9

Orlandus L. Brimmage, 20, of 406 Bunker Hill Road, Belleville, arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery on a peace officer, interference report of domestic violence on Nov. 5 by St. Clair County sheriff. Brimmage allegedly strangled Vanessa Bernard, a family/household member, by applying pressure to her neck with his hand, thereby impeding normal breathing; made physical contact with Officer Scott Pirtle, in that he kicked Officer Pirtle knowing him to be a peace officer engaged in the performance of his duties; attempted to prevent Vanessa Bernard from making a report to any law enforcement official.

Roderick L. Hall, 20, of 1929 Market St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of retail theft, subsequent on Nov. 7 by Fairview Heights police. Hall allegedly took merchandise from Macy's, 200 St. Clair Square, Fairview Heights, being two pairs of jeans, total retail value not in excess of $300. Defendant had been previously convicted of Retail Theft on March 30, 2012.

Paul E. Lind, 33, of 10 Eagle Drive, Shiloh, arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license is revoked subsequent offense on Nov. 7 by St. Clair County sheriff. Lind allegedly drove a 2007 Bronze Chrysler Aspen on Centerville Ave., Belleville, while defendant was under the influence of alcohol and during a period in which the defendant's driving privileges were revoked. Defendant had been previously convicted of Driving While License is Revoked on March 23, 2012.

Anthony E. Williams, 21, of 270 Marcella Drive, Apt. 4, Swansea, arrested on suspicion of three counts of domestic battery, subsequent offense, two counts of resisting a peace officer on Nov. 7 by Swansea police. Williams allegedly made physical contact with Katrice Williams, a family/household member, by pulling her off the bed to the floor, tearing her shirt, elbowing her about the face, struck her in the face with a closed fist. Defendant had been previously convicted of Aggravated Battery of a Pregnant Person on Feb. 23, 2012. Williams knowingly resisted the performance of Officer Leo Simburger of an authorized act within his official capacity, being the arrest of Anthony Williams, knowing Officer Simburger to be a peace officer engaged in the execution of his official duties, in that he pulled away from Officer Simburger and refused to get up off the floor.

David M. Monroe, 37, of 58 Bluebell, New Baden, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery on Dec. 9, 2011 by Belleville police. Monroe allegedly caused bodily harm to Jeremy Joergenson, in that the defendant struck Joergensen about the head with a hammer.

Ramon L. Archer, 25, of 748 Leon St., Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of aggravated discharge of a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon on Aug. 3, 2012 by East St. Louis police. Archer allegedly discharged a firearm, an assault rifle in the direction of another person, Candace B. Adams; knowingly possessed about his person an assault rifle and shot gun. Defendant had been previously convicted of Unlawful Use of a Weapon on Feb. 16, 2006.

Jared M. Blackmon, 24, of 810 N. 72nd St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on Nov. 7 by East St. Louis police. Blackmon allegedly carried in a vehicle a firearm, a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver, at a time when he was not on his own land, or in his own abode, or fixed place of business, uncased, loaded and immediately accessible.

Donnell L. Patton, 42, of 118 N. 18th St., Belleville, arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, domestic battery subsequent offense on Nov. 8 by Belleville police. Patton allegedly caused great bodily harm to Arica S. Guy, a family/household member, in that he knocked Guy's tooth out, knocked him to ground and punched him in the face. Defendant had been previously convicted of Domestic Battery on July 14, 2000.

Bryant A. Lucas, 22, of 8805 Bermuda Ave., Caseyville, arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of weapons on Nov. 8 by Belleville police. Lucas allegedly carried a 12 gauge shotgun with a barrel less than 18 inches in length.

Kelvin B. Rogers Jr., 25, of 1729 Gay St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis on Nov. 9 by Freeburg police. Rogers allegedly possessed with the intent to deliver more than 30 grams but less than 500 grams of a substance containing cannabis.

Chieanne L. Hamel, 17, of 1300 Leona Drive, Fairview Heights, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery on Nov. 9 by Belleville police. Hamel allegedly made physical contact with John Hunter, in that she struck Hunter about the head with her hand knowing John Hunter to be a peace officer engaged in the performance of his duties.
