ST. LOUIS — Ticket sales begin Wednesday for the 74th Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, which will be contested May 21-26, 2013, at Bellerive Country Club. This is the first time Bellerive has hosted the Senior PGA Championship, the most historic and prestigious event in senior golf.
"By purchasing tickets to the Senior PGA Championship, fans not only have the chance to see some of the game's legends play Bellerive, they can put themselves in priority position to purchase tickets to a historic event -- the Centennial PGA Championship, which will be played at Bellerive in 2018," said General Chairman Bob Cox. "The chance to witness two major championships over a five-year span at such a legendary golf course is an opportunity golf fans can't miss."
Cox also says demand for tickets has risen because Bellerive has a history of hosting major championships. With the 2013 Senior PGA Championship, Bellerive will become only the third club in the United States to host all four traveling men's professional major championships: PGA Championship (1992), Senior PGA Championship (2013), U.S. Open (1965), and the U.S. Senior Open (2004).
There is a variety of ticket options and packages. Ticket prices range from $15 for a Tuesday Daily Grounds ticket to $300 for a Weeklong Clubhouse ticket. Ticket purchasers also will be given the first opportunity to buy tickets for the Centennial PGA Championship.
Ticket purchasers can expect to see past Senior PGA champions Hale Irwin (1996, '97, '98, 2004), Tom Watson (2001, '11), Jay Haas (2006, '08) and Tom Lehman (2010); senior rookies Vijay Singh, Rocco Mediate and Steve Elkington; fan-favorite Fred Couples; and defending champion Roger Chapman compete for the Alfred S. Bourne Trophy.
