The biased BND needs to prioritize. Four sections should be: A, all nationally, worldly, important news, written completely, truthfully on both sides of the coin. B, news concerning local communities, surrounding areas. C, lifestyle, people, places, etc. D, sports.
Nov. 11, a day for all of us to honor our veterans and all who give of themselves, protect us, love America, sacrifice for you and me.
The BND's front page should have given the honor to our servicemen and women. I would much rather read the articles on page 5A, the letter "Memories of WW 1 vet." Glenn McCoy's cartoon said more than the front page and he didn't say a word.
The front page of the BND, the most important news? Election 2012 (money spent), sports, also on pages 1D and 7D, Belleville getting gambling. Ad for McKendree University.
None is more worthy of the front page than our veterans. Beginning, leaving home to serve, fight, protect country, live through fear, nightmares, losing fellow countrymen, seeing pain that other people are suffering, learning to live again if they do come home. When they do return they have changed and will carry the horrible memories until they can no longer remember.
These men and women face great fears, are very courageous and brave. They deserve thankfulness and appreciation from us. Thanks to all who serve and those who paid the price.
