Way to go, fundraising team

Published: November 17, 2012

Congratulations to the Cousins 2 Cure Team. On Oct. 7, this team was involved in the annual Juvenile Diabetes walk in Forest Park in St. Louis.

The co-chairman did a great job in raising money for Juvenile Diabetes Research. The co-chairman included Sherry and Cameron Lohmann, of Fairview Heights, Barbre and Philip Schaefer, of Shiloh, and Lynn and Norman Miller, of Fairview Heights. The captains were cousins Nicholas Lohmann, of Fairview Heights, and Zachary Schaefer of Shiloh.

This team has been involved in this Juvenile Diabetes walk for 11 years and has raised more than $80,000.

This year's walk had 49 walkers in the Cousins 2 Cure Team wearing bright orange T-shirts. My brother, Russell Krause, 10 R.J. Krause All-Stars and I had a great time at the walk.

I believe more than 12,000 people were involved in this walk. The R.J. Krause All-Stars received the orange Cousins 2 Cure T-shirts and also white Juvenile Diabetes T-shirts. We all enjoyed receiving souvenirs, doughnuts, hot dogs, bananas, apples, crackers and drinks.
