I read with interest the latest installment of "As MidAmerica Turns" in a recent edition of the BND. Business seems to be picking up just a bit out there.
I still view it like the fable of the race between the tortoise and the hare; the tortoise being the slowly growing business activity and the hare being the rapidly growing debt. I suspect the former will never, ever catch up to the latter but look forward to periodic updates in the BND nonetheless.
I found airport Director Tim Cantwell's statement at the end of the piece to be pretty concerning. He stated, "The application of the business plan we've been doing doesn't have a timeline, so it's growing it according to what we thought we would have. It's just taking a little longer."
I've never heard of a business plan without a timeline and thought that was a pretty critical part of any effective one. As a taxpayer I find this to be pretty "hare-raising," to say the least.
