Romney offers a way around the D.C. gridlock

Published: November 17, 2012

Congratulations to President Obama on his victory. We (except for most of my cousins) look forward to having him as our president for the next four years.

Recently I have been mulling over what I believe is the major setback of his last four years. I have a solution that he might find useful.

Obama made another great speech, accepting a second term. In that speech he mentioned this major problem over the last four years, and possibly, the next four years. Yes, it's -- G-R-I-D-L-O-C-K. Too bad he can't send in the Marines, but something must be done.

He has identified the problem, like doctors who make diagnoses by labeling it and think they have solved the problem. I believe my fiend, Patch Adams, MD would agree.

I offer a humble remedy for this serious illness, and it involves a magnificent irony. He should make Mitt Romney (latest rival) his new Secretary of State, following Hillary Clinton, his old primary rival from four years ago. Ann Romney would be Mrs. Secretary. It all fits in.

Romney did receive a substantial portion of the white popular vote, but Obama got mine. Romney made a great concession speech.

Be like Harry Truman, Mr. President. Make the buck stop with you.
