The Caseyville Police Department arrested nine individuals and issued 45 citations during a seat belt enforcement zone patrol between 11 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of State Route 157 and Tucker Drive.
According to police, two drivers were arrested for driving under the influence; six individuals were arrested on warrants and one person was arrested for driving while license suspended.
The following citations were issued: 27 citations for failure to wear seat belt, six for operating uninsured vehicle, five for disobeying traffic control device, four for illegal transportation of alcohol, one for failure to yield to an authorized emergency vehicle, one for failure to secure child and one for improper lane usage.
Funding for the enforcement zone was provided courtesy of the Illinois Department of Transportation through the Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program.
