Spokesmen said the Democratic Party made big gains in the Illinois House and Senate. They now had the majority to override any veto from their evil Democratic governor who was holding them back from solving Illinois' fiscal problems. The evil GOP in House and Senate can no longer stop the needed legislation.

What a total load of utter garbage. The governor called them back into special session to solve the state's union fiscal problems and redo the elected officials pensions. They quit and went home for fear it would make the unions mad over cuts or the vast majority of all voters outside Chicago irate with their plan to return all outstanding liabilities of severely underfunded pensions and other plans the state runs for teachers, firefighters, police, etc. back to the cities and counties before the election. They refused to even discuss their own Cadillac pension plan.

What the governor threatened to veto was a giant landbased gambling casino complex and the transfer of pension liabilities back to counties and cities. There were not enough GOP members in House or Senate to stop anything the Democrat wished to pass.

Illinois voters proved again that just like California, we are that stupid.
