Takers gain the majority

Published: November 24, 2012

Well, it has finally happened. The number of takers in this country outnumber the makers.

Mitt Romney was right, the 47 percent who do not pay any federal income tax did not vote for him. Why should they? They have a great deal, living off the largess of the land with someone else paying for it.

And for all the liberals who are gloating over their victory, let me ask them just what they have won. A bankrupt country with an inept president who doesn't have a clue about how to solve our problems except tax, borrow and spend. A do-nothing Senate led by a total loser with no ideas. A country with 25 million people out of work, 47 million on food stamps, our world credit rating at the lowest ever and slated to go down more, unemployment at about 8 percent, a war in Afghanistan we are losing, the cost of food, gasoline, medical insurance going up daily and a $16 trillion debt.

We have a president who says he will compromise with Republicans then declares a bunch of items as being off the table. My way or the highway.

President Obama and the Democrats seem to forget that the 2 percent of the taxpayers they want to tax more are the ones who invest their money in companies, thereby creating jobs. When they get enough they will take their money abroad. Who, then, will pay for all the giveaways Obama offers?
