A Godfrey woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after falling asleep in the drive-thru lane of a fast food restaurant.
Madison County Sheriff's Department responded to the Hardee's Restaurant located at 2720 Godfrey Road at about 10 p.m. Saturday for a report of a female that appeared to be sleeping in the driver's seat of a running vehicle in the drive-thru lane.
Janice L. Lyles, 53, of Godfrey displayed obvious signs of being under the influence of alcohol and failed field sobriety, according to police.
Lyles was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was being held in Madison County Jail in lieu of $100 cash bond.
