Belleville blotter: Tires stolen off Jeep dealer's lot

Published: November 27, 2012

The following report appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

MONDAY

8:55 a.m. THEFT OVER $500 - Oliver C. Joseph, 3795 W. State Route 15. The sales manager reported sometime overnight six tires were stolen from Jeeps parked on their parking lot. The suspects attempted to steal six more, but were unsuccessful.

10:40 p.m. ARMED ROBBERY - Casey's, 1706 Mascoutah Ave. Gas station employees reported a male, about 5'10", wearing a hooded sweatshirt, a ski mask, dark colored jeans, entered the store, pointed a pistol at them and demanded money. The suspect took U.S. currency and fled the scene

Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. For more police blotter news, read tomorrow's print edition of the Belleville News-Democrat and return to bnd.com.
