The St. Clair County Sheriff's Department is looking for a suspect who barged into an apartment near the intersection of West Boulevard and Carlyle Avenue just outside of Belleville city limits and stole an iPad.
According to the sheriff's department's report on the case, the man knocked at the door of an apartment where two brothers live. When the door was opened, he pulled a gun of his right front pants pocket and demanded money. One of the victims pulled out his wallet and gave the suspect cash, then the robber took his cell phone and an iPad laying on the sofa before fleeing.
Police later determined that one of the victims called a friend to come over and smoke marijuana. Instead of the friend showing up, another man arrived at the door. The victim, since he owed the man he asked over $50-$60 for marijuana, suspects the friend put the suspect up to the robbery.
