GRANITE CITY — A woman was flown from the scene of a car crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Route 3 and Northgate Industrial Drive in Granite City.
Lt. Richard Werths, with the Granite City Police Department, said the driver of a semi truck was making a left turn onto northbound Route 3 when it was struck by a car at about 2 p.m. Thursday.
The female occupant of the car suffered injuries and was flown by ARCH Air Medical Service to a local hospital, Werths said. The extent of her injuries was not immediately available.
Two child passengers in the car did not appear to be injured but were transported to a local hospital as a precaution, according to police.
Route 3 briefly was shut down while police investigated the crash.
