The following report appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

THURSDAY

10:46 p.m. DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE/CHILD NEGLECT - 1700 block of Mascoutah. Officers responded to the residence and met with the victim, a 41-year-old male, who was highly intoxicated. The victim stated his wife and three daughters hit him during an argument over a cell phone. His wife/suspect, 36, and daughters left the residence prior to officer arrival. Officers observed the living conditions in the residence to be unacceptable. The suspect was later located driving near Wal-Mart, her daughters were located in the vehicle with her. The suspect was arrested for driving while suspended. The suspect and her daughters were transported to headquarters. The juveniles were released to their grandfather. The Department of Children and Family Services was notified of the incident.

Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. For more police blotter news, read tomorrow's print edition of the Belleville News-Democrat and return to bnd.com.
