I keep hearing about the immigration issue as being controversial. The only thing controversial is that some people want to undo historic policy and do away with policies of controlled immigration.
I keep hearing that the Republicans have to get with it and come up with an immigration policy. What planet are you from? The Republicans have an immigration policy, in fact, one that is absolutely fair to everyone.
I believe their policy is the same one that all of my families met and obeyed.
When the Saaris, the Clebergs, the Delicots and the Heuermanns immigrated into the United States in the early 1900s, they were required and were happy to obey the necessary immigration policy that allowed America to become the strong county it was.
My families met requirements of not being criminal, not being sick, having a sponsor and having a job. The heads of household came over several years before the rest of the family to establish a home so that they would not be wards of the state but instead would be productive members of their new country. All of my families could speak the language of the old country but never did because they were proud to be Americans.
My ancestors learned to be American through that immigration policy which allowed for their assimilation into American culture -- a concept that seems to be purposely omitted today; apparently as a means of weakening our society.
If you disagree with controlled immigration, you are the controversial one.
