The record high temperature for December in the St. Louis metropolitan area could fall today as another day of unseasonably warm weather is on tap.
According to the National Weather Service, the temperature is predicted on Monday to reach 77 degrees. The high temperature for December in the St. Louis area was set on Dec. 15, 1948 and matched on Dec. 3 1970 when the mercury reached 76 degrees.
The average high temperature for this date is 30 degrees cooler at 47 degrees.
The weather is expected to be dry Monday but windy with gusts up to 21 miles an hour. Thunderstorms are likely after midnight and until noon Tuesday.
