Metro-east commuters will face wet roads during the morning drive Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, however, the showers are expected to start to break up before noon.

Despite the clouds and rain, the temperature is expected to still be well above normal for early December with a projected high of 60 degrees. The average high temperature for the St. Louis area for December in the St. Louis area is 42 degrees.

Sunny skies are expected for Wednesday with a high of 56 degrees.
