Glenn (Joe) and Barbara Gibson of Granite City celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 14 with family and friends at a Mass at St. Elizabeth and dinner reception at KC Hall.

Glenn and the former Barbara Wilper were married on July 14, 1962 at St. John’s Church in Quincy, IL by Fr. Anthony J. Schmidt.

Glenn served 20 years in the Air Force and Navy and 28 years at Granite City Steel and is active with the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree.

Barbara is active with the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

They have three children: Gretchen (Ernest) Morris of Granite City, Peter Gibson of Granite City and Patrick (Skye) Gibson of Carlyle, IL.

They have 10 grand-children: Meagan (Tim) Smallie, Jacob (Jessica) Morris, Kyle Morris, Elaine (Steve) Baer, Jeremy (Jamie) Morris, Cameron & Alyssa Gibson, Trenton Gibson, Malina Briagas, and Windy Sparks.

They have 7 great-grandchildren: Reece and Maddox Smallie, Carson, Alyse, and Brayden Baer, Mathew Cain, and Kolton Morris.
