EAST ST. LOUIS — Police have identified the 62-year-old man whose body was found in a metal yard Wednesday morning.
Leverne C. Clayton, whose last known address was 1818 Brady in East St. Louis, was found at Eighth Street and Brady.
St. Clair County Coroner Rick Stone said an autopsy was being conducted Wednesday afternoon but it appears Clayton was shot in the back.

Floore did not have much information about the death and no suspects had been identified.
Police were notified at 8:08 a.m. of the body when passers-by saw it in the Top Metal Buyers yard, Floore said.
