The United States as a democracy is a work in progress toward a more perfect union. It is not a socialist or a capitalist country.

We need only to look at Hostess, where CEO bonuses were more important than keeping the iconic company open, to know that capitalism does not work.

The elections proved the support of the majority of Americans for President Obama.

I don't understand how anyone can believe 47 percent of Americans are "takers." Hunger and homelessness do exist in this country. I don't believe it improves or strengthens this country to dismiss or demonize almost half the population.

Under President Obama this country remains strong and a beacon to the rest of the world.

Let us stand united and pray our representatives in Washington will work together to achieve what is best for our country as a whole and not for political or personal gain.

We must stand together and believe in our neighbors and our country. The United States is the best. God bless America!
