COLLINSVILLE CONCERT: The Collinsville Chorale will present its 19th annual Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The 8-voice civic chorus, led by Andy Waggoner, will offer both sacred and secular holiday music. Traditional favorites include "Silent Night" and "O Holy Night." Newer arrangements include "Dear Little Stranger" and "Mary's Song (Breath of Heaven)" The concert is free; a free will offering will be taken.
CHEERLEADING COMPETITION: Edwardsville High School will host the Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association (ICCA) Regional Cheerleading Competition at 11:15 a.m. Saturday. This regional competition is a qualifier for the Illinois State Cheerleading Championships at the Prairie State Convention Center in Springfield in February. Admission is $5.
FIREWORKS AT SHRINE: A St. Nicholas Celebration with fireworks will be held at 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows' Way of Lights. St. Nicholas will be strolling through the crowd. A good vantage point to watch the fireworks is the parking lot of the Church of Our Lady of the Snows. A Toys for Tots dropoff is from 3 to 6 p.m.
COOKIE WALK: You can get homemade cookies by the pound at the annual Trinity Lutheran Church Cookie Walk in Millstadt from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The cost is $7 for a mixture of cookies ($8 for fancy). The church is at 503 E. Washington. For more information, call Shirley Boehm at 618-476-1113.
