Metro Transit's holiday music series kicked off Friday with metro-east students singing at the Belleville MetroLink Station.
The Signal Hill School Choir performed holiday carols at lunchtime at the Belleville station on Friday.
On Saturday, Metro will host the Chamber Project St. Louis on the Blue Line. The Chamber Project St. Louis duo consists of flutist Jennifer Gartley and violinist Hannah Frey. Gartley teaches music at McKendree University and has been a regular performer with Winter Opera St. Louis among other orchestras. Frey teaches violin at the St. Louis School of Music and was the former Assistant Concertmaster of the Cleveland Chamber Symphony.
The train departs the Fairview Heights MetroLink Station at 12:12 p.m. Saturday and returns to the station at 2:11 p.m. The train will travel to the Shrewsbury MetroLink Station and back.
You can stay onboard for the entire show or make it part of your Saturday outing by catching the holiday train at any stop along the way.
The cost of the concert is a ticket to ride. Regular fare or a valid Metro pass is required.
