State Police November numbers: 2,308 citations, 1,550 warnings

Illinois State Police District 11 Troopers issued 2,308 citations, 1,550 written warnings, and made 59 criminal arrests during the month of November, said Illinois State Police District 11 Commander Capt. Brad Parsons.

Speeding accounted for 872 citations and 589 citations were issued for occupant restraint violations.

Troopers investigated 218 traffic crashes, assisted 446 motorists, and conducted 408 commercial vehicle inspections, 40 of which were placed out-of-service for safety reasons. There were 21 arrests made for driving under the influence and 100 other citations issued for alcohol related violations. There were six traffic crash fatalities in November in District 11 which includes Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair counties.

Also, during three separate extra patrols last month, the Illinois State Police District 11 troopers issued hundreds of tickets and arrested more than 50 offenders.

Police arrested 38 individuals -- eight for driving under the influence and 30 for other alcohol/drugs -- during the Nighttime Enforcement Patrols held during the month of November. In addition, police issued nine tickets for registration offenses, 13 tickets for driver's license offenses and 23 tickets for occupant restraint offenses.

As part of Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrols conducted from Nov. 12 to 25, police issued 142 safety belt citations, five child restraint citations and 59 other citations.

During special Traffic Enforcement Patrols conducted during the month of November in Madison and St. Clair counties, police arrested three for driving under the influence and 14 for drug/alcohol offenses. ISP officers issued 44 occupant restraint tickets and 248 speeding tickets.
