A Washington Park man was charged Friday with predatory criminal sexual assault of a juvenile girl.

St. Clair County Sheriff's have charged 43-year-old Andrew L. McKinnon with one count of criminal sexual assault, three counts of aggravated assault and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. The assault of the then 6-year-old girl occurred last year between April and September. McKinnon allegedly used a pellet gun to threaten the victim.

McKinnon has a previous conviction of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

McKinnon is being held in the St. Clair County Jail. His bail has been set at $500,000.
