Deflecting cries of racism

Published: December 8, 2012

Every time any criticism is made of the Obama administration's horrendous mistakes, writer Gene Robke accuses Republicans of racism, sexism and comes up with some farfetched attack on President Bush.

The Obama administration has told more lies than a husband who came home drunk at 2 a.m. with lipstick on his collar. I take great umbrage at Robke's denigration of Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham, two of our most distinguished senators, calling them "angry, old white guys."

Robke would lead you to believe that their investigation into the conduct of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice after the Benghazi incident is because she is a black woman. Obviously Robke has no interest in finding out the truth about the Benghazi debacle where four brave Americans were murdered even though they pleaded for help. All he can do is drag the dead skunk of racism across any efforts to find the truth.

Later on Robke accuses former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, whom he despairingly calls "Condi," of lying about Iraq. Since Rice is a black woman, doesn't it follow then that Robke is a racist and sexist?

Then there is the oft-repeated story that Republicans cut money out of embassy security in 2011 and 2012. Let me remind Robke that Democrats controlled both the Senate and presidency in those years. And about the Iraq situation, almost everyone in the world thought Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction including a lot of Democrats like Hillary Clinton.
