I see that the state Senate has approved SB1566, to increase our license plate fee by $2 with the proceeds supposedly going to the Department of Natural Resources for maintenance to our state parks.

Before folks get too excited about this, remember what our thieving governor did a couple years ago. He supposedly told DNR officials and sportsman that if he doubled our fishing and hunting license fees, the money would go to DNR and wouldn't be touched by anyone else. Guess what? It wasn't three months before he took that money out of DNR and put it in the general fund and spent it on his pork projects. At the time he made that promise we needed a turkey biologist. I don't know if we ever got that biologist, but we lost our money.

And now here he comes again adding a tax to our car/truck licenses. When are our elected officials ever going to learn that you can't trust the governor?

SB1566 is supposed to be untouchable for anything except the parks. Don't bet your lunch money on it. Remember that he is a Democrat from Chicago and he will find a way to get that money, or he will just plain steal it like in the past.
