The following incidents were listed among the official reports of local law enforcement agencies and court clerks. Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
BELLEVILLE POLICE
THURSDAY, DEC. 6
8:26 a.m. Residential burglary -- 100 block of South 89th Street. The victim reported on Dec. 5 at approximately 8:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) kicked in the rear door to the attached garage. Nothing was reported missing at this time.
10 a.m. Residential burglary -- 4500 block of Gray. The property manager reported sometime within the last week unknown person(s) forced entry and took copper wire, copper pipe, and a copper coil from an air conditioning unit.
11:33 a.m. Burglary to vehicle -- 3200 block of Denvershire. The victim reported sometime overnight, unknown person(s) stole property out of his unlocked vehicle.
3:57 p.m. Residential burglary -- First block of South 95th Street. The victim reported sometime within the last few days, unknown person(s) broke a window and possibly entered the residence. Nothing was reported missing.
6:13 p.m. Domestic battery -- 500 block of Longview Drive. The victim reported getting into an argument with her daughter/suspect at which time the suspect struck her in the face with her fist. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim signed a refusal to file a complaint form for the battery.
9:16 p.m. Residential burglary -- 400 block of Sahlender Street. The victims reported returning home from work and discovering the front door ajar and items missing from the residence. The burglary occurred between 6:25 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
FRIDAY, DEC. 7
6:31 a.m. Criminal trespass to property -- 200 block of North 14th Street. The victim reported Brian Dyer, 18, trespassed on the property after receiving prior notice he was not allowed on the property. Dyer was arrested, transported and released after appearing in court.
10:30 a.m. Criminal damage to property -- Lindenwood, 2600 block West Main Street. A student/victim reported she pulled onto the school parking lot and an unknown male confronted her for unknown reasons. The unknown male bent her car antenna and left the area.
11:48 a.m. Criminal trespass to property -- 200 block of North 14th Street. Brian Dyer, 18, was arrested after trespassing on the property a second time. Dyer was transported and later transported to the St. Clair County Jail.
11:53 a.m. Retail theft -- Walmart, 2601 Green Mount Commons. Terrill Whitehead, 20, was arrested after concealing merchandise and leaving the store without paying for it. Whitehead was transported and taken to court and released.
2:33 p.m. Burglary -- Signal Hill School, 40 Signal Hill Place. A school custodian discovered a shed had been broken into and property had been stolen.
4:25 p.m. Theft -- 1000 block of Lebanon Avenue. The victim reported her son/suspect allegedly stole her credit card and used it without her permission.
6:27 p.m. Domestic battery -- 1600 block of LaSalle. The suspect was arrested after she struck her brother/victim. The suspect was transported and later released pending charges.
6:35 p.m. Retail theft -- K-Mart, 7230 Westfield Plaza. The suspect was arrested after she took merchandise without paying for it. The suspect was transported and later released to a relative.
7:10 p.m. Retail theft -- Gas Mart, 421 South Belt East. Management reported on Dec. 6 at approximately 12:45 p.m., an unknown subject had left the store after concealing merchandise.
9:32 p.m. Criminal damage to property -- 100 block of North Michigan. The victim reported his former girlfriend/suspect punctured his tires and scratched the paint on his vehicle. The suspect left the area prior to officers' arrival. The victim signed a nontraffic citation for the damage.
10 p.m. Burglary to residence -- 200 block of Highridge. The victim reported a rear glass door was shattered and unknown person(s) gained entry to the residence. The victim reported property was stolen.
10:34 p.m. Criminal damage to property -- Belleville East High School, 2555 West Blvd. The victim reported a rock was thrown and hit the window on his vehicle, causing damage.
11:06 p.m. Traffic stop, possession of a controlled substance -- Reunion Boulevard at River Meade. The driver/suspect was arrested during a traffic stop after officers located a prescription that did not belong to the suspect in the vehicle. The suspect was transported and later transported to the St. Clair County sheriff and held pending further investigation.
SATURDAY, DEC. 8
12:51 a.m. Criminal damage to property -- Foley's Tavern, 7714 W. Main St. Officers responded for a report of a subject who damaged property inside the tavern. The subject was identified. The subject left in a vehicle prior to officers arrival. A nontraffic citation was signed against the subject for the damage.
1:36 a.m. Burglary to residence -- First block of West Pheasantwood. The victims reported when they arrived home they observed that an unknown subject broke their fron window and entered their residence. Property was stolen from the residence.
2:42 a.m. Burglary to residence -- 8000 block of West Main Street. The victim reported an unknown subject entered his residence and property was stolen.
ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES
FRIDAY, DEC. 7
Stanley G. Delk, 49, of 911 Rome St., Cahokia, and Ben Ellis, Jr., 48, of 415 Court, Belleville, were arrested on suspicion of theft by Belleville police. Delk and Ellis allegedly knowingly exerted unauthorized control over property of Mercurio Sheet Metal Inc., being aluminum coping and gutters, having a total value in excess of $500.
Darrin M. Bumpus, 47, of 5154 Waterman Blvd. Apt. 1, St. Louis, Mo., was arrested on suspicion of retail theft, subsequent, by Belleville police. Bumpus allegedly knowingly took possession of certain merchandise offered for sale in a retail mercantile establishment, Eckert's General Store, 951 S. Greenmount Road in Belleville, being steaks and lasagna having a total retail value not in excess of $300. The defendant had been previously convicted of retail theft in St. Clair County court on Oct. 13, 2003.
James L. Wagner, 46, of 220 W. Fifth St., O'Fallon, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and domestic battery by O'Fallon police. Wagner allegedly knowingly and unlawfully had in his possession less than five grams of a substance containing methamphetamine. Wagner allegedly knowingly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with Jennifer Nobilette, a family/household member, in that he dragged Nobilette outside of her residence.
Brenden T. Cepaitis, 26, of 111 S. 13th St., Wood River, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a weapon by felon by St. Clair County sheriff. Cepaitis, a person who has been convicted of a felony under the law of Illinois, allegedly knowingly possessed about his person a Hi Point 9mm Luger. The defendant had been previously convicted of unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in Madison County court on Sept. 14, 2010.
George W. Baur III, 48, of 418 Arapaho Drive, Belleville, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of controlled substance by St. Clair County sheriff. Baur allegedly knowingly and unlawfully had in his possession more than 15 but less than 100 grams of a substance containing cocaine, a controlled substance.
Hayley A. Wallace, 19, of 202 Wolf Avenue, Hamel, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of controlled substance by Fairview Heights police. Wallace allegedly knowingly and unlawfully had in her possession a substance containing amphetamine, a controlled substance.
Arthur W. Byrum, 23, of 22 Agnes Drive, Cahokia, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated unlawful use of weapon by St. Clair County Sheriff. Byrum allegedly knowingly carried in a vehicle a 9-mm handgun at a time when he was not on his own land, or in his own abode, or fixed place of business, and the said defendant was engaged in a misdemeanor violation of the Cannabis Control Act.
Pamela F. Brown, 56, of 301 N. Main St. Lot 106, Shiloh, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a credit card and unlawful acquisition of controlled substance by Fairview Heights police. Brown, with the intent to defraud the issuer Citi Bank Mastercard, allegedly obtained an item of value, being medication, hydrocodone, having a total value, not exceeding $300, by representing without the consent of the cardholder, Opal Wetzel, that she was the holder of the Citi Driver's Edge Charter World Mastercard credit card. In addition, Brown allegedly knowingly acquired possession of a substance containing hydrocodone, a controlled substance, by deception, without authority or knowledge of Wetzel, the said defendant removed an unknown quantity of hydrocodone pills from a prescription bottle of Wetzel and replaced them with pills that were not a controlled substance.
Valerie A. Stark, 34, of 600 Raintree Blvd., Canon City, Colo., was arrested on suspicion of being a fugitive from justice by St. Clair County sheriff. Stark, after having been charged in the county of Fremont, Colo., with the offense of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and fleeing the state of Colorado with the intent to avoid prosecution for that offense.
