The Highland Bulldogs got 19 points from Mitch Carriger and 12 points from Joe Duncan in beating the Wesclin Warriors 48-40 Tuesday in a non-conference high school boys basketball game.
Aaron Elledge scored five of his seven points in the fourth quarter to help the Bulldogs clinch the victory.
Kyle Eversegerd led the Warriors with 18 points, including four 3-pointers.
Gibault 40, Waterloo 37
In the battle for crosstown supremacy in Waterloo, Matt Schreder had 12 points as the Gibault Hawks beat the Waterloo Bulldogs in a defensive struggle.
The Bulldogs were led by Justin Kretchmer with 10 points and Daniel Gardner with eight points.
Mitch Meyer added nine points for the Hawks.
Granite City 81, Cleveland 32
The Granite City Warriors rolled out to a 26-7 lead and never looked back in a win over Cleveland.
Perry Grimes paced the Warriors with 25 points. Devin Narvaez contributed 17 points and Omar Walker had 15 points.
Columbia 57, Metro-East Lutheran 41
Michael Hunsaker's 20 points led four Columbia players in double figure as the Eagles beat the Metro-East Lutheran.
Jacob Wessel chipped in 12 points and Cole Foster and Connor Mallinckrodt each had 11 points for the Eagles.
John Batts was the top scorer for Metro-East Lutheran with 18 points.
Central 57 Freeburg 40
Luis Perez and Kyler Scheer each had 15 points in leading the Central Cougars past the Freeburg Midgets.
Perez scored all of his points off 3-pointers as the Cougars connected on 10 3-pointers in the game.
Justin Diecker poured in 25 points for the Midgets, who were close until they were outscored 22-8 in the third quarter.
Lebanon 52, Marissa 28
Taylor Schmidt fired in 16 points and Mason Chrsit added 12 points as the Lebanon Greyhounds beat the Marissa Meteors.
The Meteors fell behind 12-2 in the first quarter and never recovered.
Okawville 68, Greenville 40
The Rockets used an 18-1 third quarter advantage to pull away from the Comets for the nonconference win.
Jacob Brammeier scored 16 points while Jeremy Weeke added 15 for Okawville.
Mater Dei 64, Triad 47
The Knights built a 37-14 halftime lead and were never threatened as they ran to an easy win over host Triad.
Adam Etter led Mater Dei with 22 points while Ben Lampe chipped in with 11. Triad was led by Jordan Felax with 19 points.
Mater Dei 55, Okawville 39
In high schoo girls basketball action, Emily Koelling scored 20 points and the Knights defense held Okawville to just 23 points over the final three quarters to post the win.
Megan Wienstroer led Okawville with 14 points.
