I have a few comments about the news. The U.S. foreign policy is on cue. The military is securing our freedom from terrorists around the world, but with a price. Just keep waving those flags while our government's true interest is overseas big business investments: oil, cheap labor and drugs.
On the home front, the fiscal cliff is approaching and it appears no one in government can decide who to stick it to -- a few rich people or a lot of not-so-rich people. I consulted an expert to find answers, Cliff the big red dog. He said, "Bark, bark, bow wow." Finally got a straight answer.
As for gay marriage, I think the government objections are not about ethics or moral issues -- none of them have any -- but strictly about money. They just won't give up that marriage deduction.
On to health care. If you can't afford insurance now, not much will be changing for you. The AHC plan doesn't provide insurance, it just forces employers and the uninsured to buy insurance or get fined. Good-bye tax return.
Locally, the St. Louis Rams are holding the city hostage. Failure to upgrade the stadium will allow the team to leave. What about upgrading the team? Guess they forgot about that.
As for quarterback Sam Bradford, I consulted another expert, Al Bundy. He said for Bradford to move back to Oklahoma and try selling women's shoes.
What a wonderful world it is.
