You go, letter writer Steve Vandever. In response to his recent letter about Social Security:

I have told anyone within earshot (and I do not have an indoor voice) that Social Security and Medicare are not and should not be labeled as entitlements. I have long believed also that our elected officials should be paying the same taxes as the people they represent. The frivolous spending and perks are where we need to make major cutbacks. Leave our paid-for benefits alone.
