Another senseless shooting; a tragedy that should never have happened.

Already there are calls for banning guns and gun control. The way to control this would be eliminate sales of military-style weapons.

Legitimate collectors should have to have a "certified collector" FOID card. This means the ATF would check out where the guns are stored and that every gun is trigger-locked.

All gun sales are recorded. Why not have the computers flag those who purchase more than six, or some set number, per year? That would help stop the hoarders and preppers from keeping a large cache.

People should have the right to own a gun for sport, hunting or protection.

The average hunter needs nothing larger than a .306 or a shotgun. The homeowner need nothing larger than a .45 or 12-gauge.

The simple fact is that people kill people. A person can kill with a steak bone, a brick or any other means.

Using the deaths of innocent children to call for banning weapons is just wrong. If children's safety is the real issue, why are we not calling for seat belts on buses?
