EAST ST. LOUIS — The Dorris Davis Helping Hand Shelter will hold its annual Christmas Day dinner in memory of the Rev. Dorris Davis.
Davis, who operated the homeless shelter for 25 years, died in August. He was also a former Washington Park trustee.
Organizers are in need of volunteers, donations and toys for the Christmas dinner.
The event, held in collaboration with Project Compassion NFP, starts at noon Tuesday at the East St. Louis City Hall rotunda, 301 River Park Drive.
Gifts will be given to children aged 15 years and younger.
