Lane closures are expected on Illinois Route 15 between Route 159 and Green Mount Road beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday. The closures are needed to make repairs to the roadway just west of Green Mount to correct damage created by mine subsidence.
At all times, at least one lane of Route 15 traffic will remain open in each direction, according to Illinois Department of Transportation. Access to area businesses and residences will be maintained throughout the day.
Work will begin in the eastbound lanes and move to the westbound lanes upon completion. IDOT officials anticipate the work will be completed by 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Drivers are asked to take alternate routes or allow additional travel time.
