Bundle up: Chance of snow, falling temperatures in the forecast Thursday

Thunderstorms arrive in the metro-east Wednesday night before falling temperatures introduce snow into the forecast for Thursday.

There's an 80 percent chance of rain overnight, with snow showers in the weather picture for Thursday afternoon. The mercury will drop from a morning high in the low 50s to the mid-30s in the afternoon, with winds gusting from 25 to 35 mph.

The precipitation will fall off, along with the temperatures, which will drop into the mid-20s overnight Thursday.

The weekend-Christmas forecast calls for highs in the 40s through the holiday, with a chance of rain in the outlook for Christmas Day.
