Published: December 19, 2012

O'Fallon police are searching for a pair of young men who they say grabbed several boxes of the heartburn relief medicine Prilosec from the shelves of a pharmacy and then fled.

The two men, described as black males in their late teens or early 20s allegedly took the drugs Tuesday from the CVS pharmacy at 753 W. Highway 50. Police said they fled in a gray Chevrolet Caprice.

One suspect was estimated to be 5-foot-5. He had short hair, a mustache and was wearing faded black jeans and a white cap with a dark bill. The other was about 5-foot-7 with dreadlocks. He was wearing a red hoodie and blue jeans.

According to police, Prilosec is believed to enhance the high people get from methadone and it has been a popular target for thieves in recent years.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact the O'Fallon Police Department at 624-4545.
