Chelsea Akin, daughter of Kenny Akin of Cahokia, IL. and Laura Coy, of Columbia, IL. is engaged to Derek Crockett, son of Sheila and Michael Crockett of Cahokia, IL.

Chelsea is a 2009 graduate of Cahokia Senior High School and a 2011 graduate of SWIC in Belleville, IL. She is a current student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, pursuing a degree in Secondary English Education.

Derek is a 2005 graduate of Fort Bowman Academy in Cahokia, IL. and a SWIC Criminal Justice graduate as of May, 2013.

They are planning a Spring 2014 wedding.
